Northern Golf Course Descriptions Course Holes Par Handicap Description Ponte de Lima 18 71 28 / 36 Nine holes are on the hill side amongst mature trees and the second nine in the valley surrounded by vineyards, fruit trees and corn fields. Vidago Palace 18 72 28 / 36 Surrounded by cedars and oaks, a pleasant course for any level of player. Barca do Lago 9 31 36 / 36 Close to the river with some attractive lakes to add to the challenge of this short course. (Also known as Quinta da Barca.) Estela Golf Club 18 72 28 / 36 A links course - the sand dunes provide the hazards and the northerly wind adds to the challenge. Amarante 18 68 28 / 36 This short course on the hill above Amarante is well worth playing - with a buggy. The course design improves after the first two holes. Oporto 18 71 28 / 36 Links course established in 1890. One of the oldest golf courses in continental Europe. Monte Belo 27 72 36 / 36 This mountain course, near to Viseu, is another in a beautiful landscape but buggies are recommended.
